Nova office chair

The Nova is a compact ergonomic office chair with a high mesh back and adjustable lumbar support. The seat is made of plywood with shape-retaining cold-cure foam (class 1IM) and adjusts 7 cm in depth. The plastic back and seat support comes in black or white.

Version

• Black with a mesh back: black plastic support and black star base
• White with a mesh back: white plastic support and white star base

Armrests

None, or 1D, 2D or 4D with a soft PU top layer in the colour of the chair. The 4D armrest is only available on the black version.

Seat upholstery

The fabric group determines the price. Within a group every colour costs the same. You choose the colour after ordering; we will contact you about this. All colours per fabric group are shown with the photos, and the complete fabric chart can be downloaded: fabric chart (pdf).

What does the Martindale figure mean?

In the Martindale test a fabric sample is rubbed back and forth under a weight until wear appears. The figure is the number of rubs the fabric achieves. Below 25,000 is light domestic use, 25,000 to 40,000 normal office use, above 40,000 intensive office use and above 100,000 suitable for 24-hour use such as control rooms and shift work. A higher figure says something about wear resistance, not about how the fabric feels.

Differences between the materials

• Polyester (BN, AB, ME, CH, ST, WI) is strong, colourfast and easy to maintain. AB, CH and WI are made from recycled yarn.
• Wool blends (MF, MW, CS, SY) feel fuller, breathe well and are less prone to pilling. They are somewhat more sensitive to stains.
• Mesh is used in the back. TT is standard and achieves 60,000 Martindale; RR Runner and RY Rhythm from Gabriel achieve 70,000.

All fabrics and mesh comply with EN 1021-1 and EN 1021-2, the European standard for the fire behaviour of furniture upholstery. Most carry Oeko-Tex, the EU Ecolabel or both.
