Document holders: fewer neck complaints when working with a monitor

Anyone who regularly consults documents while working at a computer screen constantly bends or turns their head between the screen and paper. In the long term, this leads to neck, shoulder, and eye complaints. A document holder places the document at eye level next to or below the screen, minimizing eye movement. At BNR Office, you will find document holders for every workplace and every type of use. Also, check out our other ergonomic accessories.

Types of document holders

Freestanding document holders

Freestanding document holders are placed on the desk next to the keyboard or screen. They are easy to use and suitable for loose sheets, folders, or binders. Available with and without a ruler for easy line-following.

Monitor-mounted document holders

These document holders are attached directly to the side or top of the monitor. They place the document at the exact same height as the screen, minimizing eye movement between the document and the screen.

Arm-mounted document holders

Arm-mounted document holders are attached to the desk or monitor arm and are fully adjustable in height, angle, and position. They offer the most flexibility and are ideal for intensive users who work a lot with documents.

Inline document holders

Inline document holders are placed between the keyboard and the screen, directly in front of the user. They are ideal for data entry where the document needs to be centrally located for the user.

Benefits of a document holder

  • Fewer neck and shoulder complaints due to less head rotation
  • Less eye strain due to shorter focus distance
  • Higher productivity for data entry and transcription work
  • Tidier desk: documents neatly in place
  • Easy to combine with other ergonomic accessories

Combine with other ergonomic accessories

A document holder is most effective as part of a complete ergonomic workstation. Combine with a monitor arm, ergonomic office chair and footrest for optimal working comfort.
