Peace and focus at work
In an open-plan office, meetings, phone calls, and foot traffic compete with work that requires concentration. The core of the issue is not more silence, but the right place for the right task. We identify where distractions originate and translate that into zone-based layouts, appropriate measures, and actionable agreements.
Noise
Phone calls, consultations, and informal chats are audible. Added to this is reverberation reflecting off hard surfaces, plus equipment like printers, coffee machines, and air conditioning.
Visual clutter
Movement in the field of vision draws attention away from the screen. Workstations that face a walkway or a meeting table continuously demand attention that is not directed at work.
Interruptions
A quick question at the desk costs more than the question itself. Without a clear place for calls and meetings, those moments always end up at the workstation of someone who needs focus at that time.
Inventory of complaints and activities
Where are the bottlenecks and at what times? We look at the type of work per department: concentrated tasks, telephone contact, meetings, and confidential conversations. An acoustic measurement of noise levels, reverberation time, and speech intelligibility makes the situation quantifiable.
Defining zones
Divide the floor plan into quiet zones for concentrated work, active zones for collaboration and meetings, social zones for breaks and informal contact, and call zones for phone calls. We place quiet zones away from high-traffic walkways.
Implementing measures
The right solution for each zone: absorption in ceilings, walls, and floors; partition walls and desk screens between workstations; acoustic pods for calling and video conferencing; and greenery or frosted glass for visual screening. Additions can be made later, without renovations.
Agreements and evaluation
Technology only works in combination with behavior: calling in the pod, meetings in the conference room, respecting quiet zones. We help formalize and communicate these agreements and check after implementation whether the layout aligns with the work.
On-site advice
We visit your location, measure the acoustics, and discuss the issues with the people who work there. Interior advice and 3D designs are free, allowing you to see the new layout before making a decision.
Over 35 years of experience
We have been furnishing offices for over 35 years. We understand the trade-offs between open space and privacy and know which measures make the difference in any given situation.
Step-by-step implementation
Measures can be added afterwards without major renovations. You start with the biggest bottlenecks and expand as the budget or needs require.
