Cell 128 seating element

The Cell 128 seating elements have a high back that screens all round and so gives privacy in an open space. Sitland calls the back panels sound-absorbing and has had them acoustically tested to UNI EN ISO 354:2003. The shell is fully pre-shaped with injected cold foam and upholstered all round. Can be ordered individually, supplied unassembled.

Upholstery

The fabric group determines the price. Within a group every colour costs the same. You choose the colour after ordering; we will contact you about it. All the colours per fabric group are shown with the photos, and the full fabric chart can be downloaded: fabric chart (pdf).

What does the Martindale figure mean?

In the Martindale test a fabric sample is rubbed back and forth under a weight until wear appears. The figure is the number of rubs the fabric achieves. A seating element in an open office space is used for fewer hours a day than an office chair, so all the groups here are ample. If the element stands in a busy public space, choose a group above 100,000.

Differences between the materials

• Wool blends breathe and feel fuller. They also pill less quickly than smooth woven fabrics.
• Polyester (AL, ME, CH, ST, RG, FT) is strong, colourfast and easy to maintain. CH and FT are made from recycled yarn.
• Artificial leather (SC Secret) can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and is therefore practical in a space used by many people.

All fabrics comply with EN 1021-1 and EN 1021-2, the European standard for the fire behaviour of furniture upholstery.

• Two-tone: the shell in two colours, 10 per cent surcharge
• Frame colour: black or white, no surcharge
• Swivelling side table: from 535 euros on the armchair, on the 2-seater sofa a table on the left or on the right. Sitland supplies this side table with a swivelling top and a support
• USB A/C connection: 120 euros extra, as a pop-up charger in the table top
