Furnishing an executive office: desk, meeting table and cabinet in one line
An X9 executive desk in wood veneer. The meeting table and cabinet are available in the same finish.
One room, three functions
In an executive office people work, confer and receive visitors. There is a desk, a meeting table or seating area, and a cabinet or sideboard. Those three pieces are often bought separately. The desk first, the meeting table later, the cabinet if there is room left over.
That is usually where it goes wrong. The meeting table comes from a different line, the top is just a shade different and the leg does not match. Anyone who wants the room to look like a whole therefore chooses one line first and puts all the furniture together within it.
Choose the line first
At Quadrifoglio most executive lines have a desk and a meeting table with the same design language and the same top. The difference between the lines lies mainly in the material of the top.
The X2 is a standalone meeting table, rectangular or oval, in eight melamine finishes. It matches a melamine line, but has no desk of its own.
The veneer of the X9, X10 and e-10 is always Elm, American Walnut or Ebony. The leather writing surface is Red, Brown, Anthracite or Black. The X10 goes furthest: that line also includes a low coffee table 42 cm high in the same veneer, for the seating area.
The e-10 executive desk. The e-10 meeting table, from the same line.
Top heights differ per line
A detail that is often overlooked: not every line has the same top height. So anyone who takes the desk and meeting table from different lines also gets different heights.
Line
Top height
X2
73 cm
X5, X7, X8
75 cm
X9
75 cm (desk)
X4 (work floor)
75.5 cm (fixed height)
e-10
76 cm
X10
76 cm desk, 77 cm meeting table
T45
76.5 cm
If the meeting table stands on its own in the room, a difference of a centimetre is barely noticeable. If the desk and table stand in one sight line, or the table is pushed up against the desk, you see every difference in height, top thickness and leg. Between an X2 and a T45 there is 3.5 cm. On the T45 the top height is in fact 76.5 cm throughout, so that the desk and table form one continuous line side by side.
So mixing is possible, but do it deliberately. Check the top heights before you combine a desk from one line with a table from another.
The cabinet in the same finish
Next to a veneer desk, a cabinet in a wood finish stands out immediately. That is why Quadrifoglio's Q4 hinged-door cabinet is available with doors in four materials: melamine, lacquer (23 colours), wood veneer or leather.
Q4 hinged-door cabinet in leather: Red (CRS), Brown (CMA), Anthracite (CGA) or Black (CNE), the same colours as the leather writing surfaces.
The top panel is 18 mm melamine as standard. It is also available in 30 mm melamine, 18 mm lacquer, 30 mm wood veneer or 30 mm leather. With side panels the top panel becomes a surround around the whole cabinet. You put the cabinet together from 1, 2 or 3 cabinet sections side by side, in 86, 131 or 214 cm high, and it is lockable.
Working with a melamine line? The Q4 cabinets are matched to the X7 and X8, with the same melamine colours and handles. The Q4 metal cabinet is matched to the T45, X7 and X8. All cabinets are on the page Quadrifoglio cabinets and storage.
How to put it together
Choose the material. Melamine, lacquer, glass or wood veneer. That already narrows the choice to a few lines.
Choose the line and check the top height. Desk and meeting table preferably from the same line.
Choose the shape of the desk. Straight, or a corner desk with an extension. On the X8 that extension is a sliding-door cabinet or a pedestal.
Choose the size of the meeting table. From four people to a table of more than five metres with linked tops.
Choose the cabinet in the same finish. Doors and top panel matching the desktop.
Do not forget the cables. Cable baskets and modesty panels can be ordered separately per line.
Planning: all Quadrifoglio furniture is made to order in Italy, with a lead time of 4 to 6 weeks. It pays to put together and order the whole room in one go.
The melamine finishes of all the lines are shown side by side on our page with tabletop colours. You can see the full programme at Quadrifoglio. For chairs, lighting and acoustics in the executive office, see executive offices.
Advice and showroom
Send us the dimensions of the room and we will produce a free 2D or 3D floor plan with the desk, meeting table and cabinet in position. That way you can see in advance whether everything fits and lines up. In our 1,000 m² showroom in Moordrecht you can view materials and finishes for real. Delivery and installation are handled by our own people.
Can I combine a desk and a meeting table from different lines?
Yes, but mind the top height. It varies between the lines from 73 to 76.5 cm. On the veneer lines X9, X10 and e-10 the veneers are the same, though.
Which cabinet suits a veneer desk?
The Q4 hinged-door cabinet with doors in veneer or leather. The veneer and the leather are the same as on the tops of the X9, X10 and e-10. The top panel can also be in 30 mm veneer or leather.
How long is the lead time?
The furniture is made to order in Italy. Allow 4 to 6 weeks.
Can I order something extra later?
Partly, yes. The modesty panel of the X7 and X8 and the cable basket of the T45 can also be ordered afterwards for a desk you already have. Do you want to match furniture that is already in place? Send a photo with your enquiry and we will find the matching finish.
