Line office chair

The Line owes its name to the continuous line from back to seat. A sleekly designed executive and office chair with visible stitching, on a polished aluminium five-star base.

Finish

The stitching determines the character of the chair: plain without stitching for a sleek look, or L line stitching with continuous panels. The line stitching costs 35 euros extra.

Upholstery

The fabric group determines the price. Within a group every colour costs the same. You choose the colour after ordering; we will contact you for this. All colours per fabric group are shown with the photos, and the complete fabric chart can be downloaded: fabric chart (pdf).

What does the Martindale number mean?

In the Martindale test, a fabric sample is rubbed back and forth under weight until wear occurs. The number is the number of cycles the fabric achieves. Below 25,000 is light domestic use, 25,000 to 40,000 normal office use, above 40,000 heavy office use and above 100,000 suitable for 24-hour use such as control rooms and shift work. A higher number says something about abrasion resistance, not about how the fabric feels.

Difference between the materials

• Fabric is woven and breathes well. Polyester (ME, CH) is strong, colourfast and easy to maintain.
• Faux leather is a woven backing with a coating. It can be wiped with a damp cloth, making it practical for intensive or shared use, but it breathes less than fabric.
• Wool blends feel fuller and are less prone to pilling than polyester. They are somewhat more sensitive to stains.
• Genuine leather is grain leather from Dani. It develops a patina over time and needs occasional care.

All fabrics and leathers comply with EN 1021-1 and EN 1021-2, the European standard for the fire behaviour of upholstery. CH, MF, CS, SY and RM also carry the EU Ecolabel.
