Height-adjustable desks: four series and who they are for
The Ciao: our own model, quickly available in eight tabletop colours.
With us, four series cover most of the demand for electric sit-stand desks. They differ not so much in their mechanics as in what they are meant for: one workstation that has to be there tomorrow, a department that switches over in one go, or an office where the frame has to last for years with changing tops. Below, per series, where it comes from, what it does and how quickly it arrives.
Ciao: quickly available, our own model
The Ciao is a desk of our own. The top adjusts from 65 to 130 cm, the frame carries 120 kg and the controller has a memory module with three presets. There are six tabletop sizes, from 120 x 80 to 200 x 100 cm, on a T-leg.
Where the Ciao stands out is the lead time: it is listed as quickly available in our webshop, in eight standard tabletop colours. For a single workstation, a home workstation or an extension that cannot wait, that is often decisive. If the top needs to be longer than two metres, there is the Ciao XL; for a corner configuration the Ciao height-adjustable corner desk.
SF 370 and SF 670 from Actiforce
Actiforce supplies the Steelforce frames. We have two of them in our range. The SF 370 adjusts from 69 to 118 cm and has four tabletop sizes up to 180 x 80 cm. The SF 670 goes further: from 61.5 to 127.5 cm, in six sizes from 120 x 80 to 200 x 100 cm. Both carry 120 kg dynamically and are quickly available.
That low starting point of the SF 670 is the argument for choosing it over the SF 370. A user of around 1.60 m sits too high at a top of 69 cm, even with the chair raised; a good seven centimetres lower then makes all the difference. If the top becomes wider than 200 cm, there is the SF 670 XL up to 320 cm, with an extra leg in the middle. For a corner configuration there are the SF 670 corner desk and the 135° version.
The SF 670 starts at 61.5 cm — the lowest starting point of the four series.
Flex 3+ from Flexaro
The Flex 3+ is the desk for a workstation that is used intensively and by different people. Two quiet motors in three-stage telescopic columns take the top from 64 to 130 cm, including the 25 mm top. The memory unit has four presets, the control panel can go on the left or the right under the top, and a safety sensor stops the top as soon as it meets an obstacle.
The frame comes in two forms: the usual T-leg and a panel leg of two solid metal panels ten centimetres thick, in which the mechanics disappear from view. Cable management is integrated; a folding cable tray and cable sleeve are ordered separately. Seven tabletop sizes, from 120 x 80 to 200 x 100 cm. Lead time one to two weeks.
Flex 3+ at standing height: three-stage telescopic columns, up to 130 cm including the top.
S-Line from Flexaro
The S-Line shares its mechanics with the Flex 3+ — two motors, four memory presets, 65 to 130 cm including the top, seven tabletop sizes — and adds two things to that. The controller has a USB-A charger built in, and the bench frame is telescopic: adjustable from 110 to 190 cm wide, and with the Extension Kit up to 230 cm. If you choose a different tabletop size later, the frame comes along.
For workstations with a lot standing on the top there is the S-Line Heavy Duty frame: four motors, 320 kg load capacity, 60 to 125 cm, 14 mm per second and a USB-C connection. That is a frame without a top — you choose the worktop to go with it yourself, for example a separate 25 mm desktop.
Duo and bench configurations
Two workstations facing each other on one frame save space and cables. The question that counts: does each top move separately? With all four below it does, so that one person can stand while the other sits.
Ciao duo desk: each top separately adjustable from 62 to 130 cm, 120 kg.
SF 670 duo desk: H-leg, 61.5 to 127.5 cm, 120 kg. The legs stand at the ends, so that there is room left for a pedestal.
Flex 3+ bench: crossbar-free frame, so no cross beam under the tops and full legroom on both sides.
S-Line bench: telescopic bench frame with an upholstered magnetic cable tray under the top.
The top determines the lead time more often than the frame. On the Flexaro series the top is 25 mm melamine in 28 colours. The eight colours of tabletop group 1 we deliver in one to two weeks; tabletop groups 2 and 3 are made to order, with a lead time of four to six weeks. The Ciao and the SF series have eight standard colours that are quickly available, from white and light grey to American walnut and concrete look.
Does it have to match what is already there? Send a photo of the current furniture with your quotation request. Decors from different suppliers look alike on paper and differ in reality. In our showroom you will find the tabletop samples.
Without a power socket
Not every workstation has power within reach, and not every situation calls for motors. The S-Light adjusts with a crank from 71 to 119 cm. The Flex Easy+ works with a click system, without power as well. For a fixed working height there are the straight desks.
You do not read the difference between 61.5 and 69 cm, you feel it. The series are set up in our 1,000 m² showroom in Moordrecht; a visit is by appointment. If a whole department is switching over, we will draw up your space free of charge in 2D or 3D and our own people deliver and install it.
The Ciao and the Actiforce desks SF 370 and SF 670 are listed as quickly available in our webshop. The Flex 3+ and the S-Line have a lead time of one to two weeks, provided you choose a tabletop colour from tabletop group 1.
Is the stated height including the top?
With the Flex 3+ and the S-Line this is stated explicitly: 64 and 65 to 130 cm respectively, including a 25 mm top. For the other series we check it when it has to be exactly right.
Can I put a different top on the same frame later?
With the S-Line bench you can: that frame is adjustable from 110 to 190 cm wide, and with the Extension Kit up to 230 cm. With other series it depends on the frame; ask us before you order.
What if there is a lot standing on the top?
The Ciao and the Actiforce frames carry 120 kg. If there are several monitors, a heavy monitor arm and equipment on it, look at the S-Line Heavy Duty frame: four motors and 320 kg load capacity.
From Moordrecht we deliver and install throughout South Holland. About the showroom by appointment, the free floor plan, lead times, installation by our own team and the removal of old furniture.
