Skate Synchro office chair

The Skate Synchro is the Skate with a self-regulating synchronous mechanism and seat depth adjustment; the controls are neatly concealed under the seat. The mechanism automatically adapts to the user's weight, so no adjustment is needed.

Version

• Black or white with mesh back: mesh covering, with an upholstered seat in eleven fabric groups
• Black or white upholstered: back and seat in the same fabric, in four fabric groups

Armrests

None, height-adjustable, height- and width-adjustable, or adjustable in height, width and depth. The height and width version is not available with the white versions.

Upholstery

The fabric group determines the price. Within a group every colour costs the same. You choose the colour after ordering; we will contact you for this. All colours per fabric group are shown with the photos, and the complete fabric chart can be downloaded: fabric chart (pdf).

The combination white with mesh back and MF Main Line Flax is not available.

What does the Martindale number mean?

In the Martindale test, a fabric sample is rubbed back and forth under weight until wear occurs. The number is the number of cycles the fabric achieves. Below 25,000 is light domestic use, 25,000 to 40,000 normal office use, above 40,000 heavy office use and above 100,000 suitable for 24-hour use such as control rooms and shift work. A higher number says something about abrasion resistance, not about how the fabric feels.

Difference between the materials

• Fabric is woven, breathes well and is available in the most colours. Polyester is strong and colourfast; wool blends feel fuller and are less prone to pilling.
• Faux leather (SC Secret) is a woven backing with a coating. It can be wiped with a damp cloth, making it practical for intensive or shared use.
• Mesh is a tensioned mesh covering in the back. It breathes best and gives slightly, but is available in fewer colours.

All fabrics and mesh comply with EN 1021-1 and EN 1021-2, the European standard for the fire behaviour of upholstery. AL, BN, AB, ME, CH, ST, CS and SY carry Oeko-Tex; AB, CH, ST, MF, CS, SY and RM are EU Ecolabel certified.
